The image of Buddha. In a broad sense, it includes Bodhisattva, Arhat, King Ming, etc. Although there are two types of sculptures, portraits (painted images), only sculptures are called Buddha images, and portraits are called images. In ancient India, it was considered that carving Buddha statues was a sacred thing. Therefore, the ancient carvings such as Shan Qi and so on only ended up symbolizing the Buddha with the marks of the Dharma, Bodhi Tree, and the footprint of Buddha.
